How To Choose A Name For Your Business

choosing-a-business-nameIn the competitive world of internet businesses you want to choose a name that will get you customers and make you money.

Choosing a name depends on where you plan to take your online business career.  Will your concentration be in one area or do you plan on broadening your online scope.

If your plan on concentrating on one area I would suggest you select a name that best describes your business.  Use keywords that describe the type of business you have decided on.

Think like a web surfer…if I wanted information on dog grooming I would type “dog grooming”  into my search engine.

So if your business is dog grooming the name” How to groom your dog” would be reach your targeted audience quicker  “Beautiful Dogs”.

If you plan on extending your online business you may want to think of a name that will lend itself to a wider array of opportunities.  If you plan on branching off into proper dog diets then a little more generic name “How to Care for you Dog” would be more suitable.

In general if you follow these 4 tips to choosing a business name you should come up with a profitable one:
  • Make it easy to type (to avoid misspelling)
  • Use proper grammar (Don’t use Kats instead of Cats)
  • Avoid hyphens and numbers (Don’t use 2 instead of to)
  • Research it (You don’t want to have a name too much like someone else’s)
A keyword search will show you what people are looking for on the internet.   jaaxy.com provides an excellent search tool and can be used for free.
