Lack Of Motivation Is Your Worst Adversary

Millions of people would love to have a job where they can stay home in their pajamas and make a decent living without it being a scam. Thanks to the Internet, finding these kinds of jobs is vastly easier. However, many of these work-at-home individuals don’t put into account just how difficult it can be in order to stay motivated to keep working.
Throughout your day, there is a variety of things that can interfere with your work ethic. You could be tempted to waste time on YouTube, computer games, movies, or even just curl under the blanket and catch a few more Zs. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior severely damages your capacity for actually making enough money to pay the bills. With all of these diversions, how can you maximize your time in order to make as much as you possibly can?
1. Clear Your Work Area – Remove any items on your desk that can become a distraction. Not only does a clean desk help eliminate various diversions, but it can make you feel more professional as you work. The more professional you feel, the more productive you can be.
2. Create a Work-friendly Computer Account – As you can add users onto your computer, why not make an account that is restricted to only using the tools you need? Deny access to games and other temptations that can divert your attention. Although you can simply turn off these restrictions if you really want to waste some time, it adds a few more steps to the process. This could help you remember to stay focused on your task.
3. Restrict Websites on Your Router – Depending on the type of router you have for the Internet, you can set restrictions to deny certain websites during specific times of the day. This can be of equally great help if you have a spouse or child that can set the password on the router so you can’t disable the restriction.
4. Set Goals – Set goals for yourself each day in regards to your work. If you’re a freelance writer, try to beat your previous records of how many words you type. Set a weekly goal to beat how much money you were able to bring in as you work. Try to keep focused on beating your own personal records instead of the size of your workload.
5. Exercise Regularly – Exercising doesn’t just help your body stay fit and help keep those extra pounds from accumulating. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins that produces a euphoric frame of mind. The better your mood is maintained throughout the day, the more productive you could be.
6. Dress Up – Although it’s fun to consider that you can work in your pajamas, why not try a few days of actually dressing up for work? You don’t have to put on a suit and tie, but dressing for work could help you feel more professional. As mentioned above, that professional feeling could get you in the professional state of mind.
For some people, keeping focused on the day’s tasks can be quite difficult. If you want to succeed, you need to find what is slowing you down and exhausting too much of your time. When you work at home, the more time that is spent being diverted is less money at the end of the week.
