How many times have you wished things were different?
"I wish I were slimmer"
"I wish I were fitter"
"I wish I were healthier"
"I wish I had more money"
"I wish I could go on holiday this year"
Whatever it is you are wishing for, what are you doing to make it actually happen?
If you wish that you were healthier, are you looking at the what you do that is unhealthy and removing it?
If you wished you were slimmer, are you starting a diet and cutting out the fatty food?
If you wished you had more money, are you looking at ways to increase your income?
Everyone makes wishes at some point, but the strange thing is that very few people doing anything to make the wishes come true.
Naturally, if you are sitting there, wishing you could fly, there is not a whole lot you can do about it. That is impossible and out of your control.
But so many things that people wish for ARE possible and, surprisingly, also within their control.
You control your fitness, your health, your appearance. To make changes requires determination and willpower, sure, but the simple fact is that YOU are in control.
If you want it bad enough, you can make anything happen.
That also goes for the things that people consider are not in their control. Things like jobs and income.
If you stay in your existing job, you are certainly at the mercy of somebody who dictates your income and time, but the situation is NOT out of your control.
If the idea of packing in your job and starting something new, from scratch, seems far too scary, what about starting an extra online job that produces an extra income which will, eventually, replace your existing job.
It's this sort of mindset that holds so many people back from making real meaningful changes in their lives.
Years of believing that things are dictated by others is a tough habit to break and it's not made any easier when you suggest to people that you may be looking to make a change an the response is negative.
Tell people you are looking to live more healthily or you are going to try and lose weight and get fitter, you will probably be met with a good reaction.
But tell them you are thinking of doing something about your job and the reaction is not always positive. In fact, some people will tell you that you are crazy.
You have a job and regular money each month, why would you want to jeapordise that?
It's that mindset that infects everyone and it's what makes is so tough to do things differently.
The control is in your hands when it comes to these things, which is great, but it also means that when you don't make the changes then you are the one to blame.
